Organisation Background
the YMCA of Ballarat (known as "the Y") was established in 1878 where it has served the community for over 140 years. Known primarily for its delivery of early years education and care, connection to recreation management and programming, alongside Youth empowerment programming, the YMCA Ballarat continues to evolve its offerings to support young people, strengthening communities to build a just, sustainable, equitable and inclusive world where every person can thrive in body, mind and spirit.
We are committed in delivering upon our belief statement “We believe in the power of inspired young people” by engaging and supporting young people in our communities through our program and service streams.
We have an exciting future ahead of us, guided by our strategic plan “Towards Vision 2030” and will be commencing the implementation of the “Best Start, Best Life” Victorian Kindergarten reform that will see us grow by an additional third by 2036. We continue to expand our services and programs in our Youth and Education services having established education re-engagement programs including JumpStart and ReCranked In Schools.
